1966 Born the second of october.
1976 Started his career as a classical guitarist.
1981-1986 Student of: Andy Sundstrom ( a former student of Andres Segovia,Ida Presti and Alexandre Lagoya).
1986-1992 Studies with: prof. Ingolf Olsen at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen.
1992-94 Student of the three American Guitarists:
David Starobin,
David Leisner,
William Anderson,
Conducting studies with:
Anthony Newman.
1993.
Performance in Alice Tully Hall Lincoln Center New York with Cellist David Eggar.

1995.

Debut at the Moscow Conservatory (full hall).

1996
(most important event)
A performance in third Festival Intenacional de Guitarre Cuenavaca (Mexico) With guitarists such as:
Manuel Barreuco , Eduardo Fernandez ,
John Holmquist , Jason Vieux and Antonio Lopez.

A master class on nearby Mexico State University.
1997
Solo concerts in New York (3), Denmark, Germany and a master class + concert in
Sofia guitar Festival with guitarist Petko Genkov.
June 29-July 13 Invited to participate in Sarah Lawrence Summer Guitar
Institute (New York) with some of America´s finest guitarists, including
Nicholas Goluses , Friedrich Hand, Michael Lorimer, Alan Krantz , Friedrick Hand and
William Anderson.
July 29 Solo recital in St. Martin-In-The-Fields.(London, U.K.).
July 30 Solo recital in Kings Lynn Festival.(Norfolk, U.K.).
This festival also included Royal Philharmonic Orchestra , Royal Liverpool
Philharmonic orchestra and Emma Kirkby.
Yehudi Menuhin , Kathleen Ferrier, Julian Bream and John Williams
have previously been invited to this festival.

1998
Concerts in Reykjavik, Paris and Brussels. Release of new CD,
“HENRIK RUNG DANISH NATIONAL COMPOSER AND GUITAR VIRTUOSO”.
Released by the label CLASSICO and almost sold out in less than two months.
The release of the CD was an event covered in the news on the Danish National
Television.
Solo- and chamber appearances in Denmark.
Concert in Sofia, Bulgaria for an overcrowded hall with the two famous
Bulgarian stars: Prof. Angel Stankov, violin and Prof. Iossef Radionov,
viola.
Master class at the Bulgarian State Academy of music and the Military
Academy of Sofia. Appearance on Bulgarian Television in a live show.
Interviewed live on the Danish Radio about his new CD.

1999
A small tour in the U.K.: concerts in St. Martin-In-The-Fields and
the Kings Lynn Festival (Church Concerts). Solo and chamber performances in Denmark.
A tour in Argentina and Bolivia; Concerts in Salon Dorado Teatro Colon,
invited to give a master class at Conservatorio Nacional De Bolivia and
an invitation to give a concert in the Ibero-American Festival and in the
Sucre International Festival. Appearances in Bolivian television and Radio.
Jens Bang-Rasmussen was offered a position as a guitar teacher at the
Conservatorio Nacional de Bolivia.
Concert tour in Japan. Concert in PALACIO DE LA GUITARRE, and other
solo recitals in the Tokyo area.
The two prestigious guitar magazines: Gendai Guitar No. 414 page 42-48 (Japan) and Guitar Review( No. 118 page 14-16 (U.S.A.) published his article Henrik Rung (1807-71) A Danish Counterpart to Fernando Sor.

2000 and on press here

Jens Bang-Rasmussen was one of the fist western musicians to play in the free radio of Latvia ,
right after the cold war.

Besides his Studies he attended Master classes with Julian bream , Milan Selenka, Per olof Johnson ,
Goran Sollscher and Alexandre Rodrigues.

He has worked with the American composer George Crumb.
